Hire cars are an essential to any good holiday. Exploring a foreign land from behind the wheel of an unfamiliar car is a thrill like no other. It’s probably how Columbus felt.

Sixt in fact leads by a huge margin by this measure with just more than 35%, with Europcar trailing at 30.4%.

Hertz smashes the Twitter reach game, reaching more than 17 million customers on the site, whilst Sixt, despite its mentions success reaches fewer than 9 million people on Twitter, but does take a huge chunk of the responses to corporate category, showing that their customers are far more engaged with the brand than the other three.

But, here’s the kicker, Europcar’s mentions are a staggering 44.74% positive, more than double that of Sixt on 20.54%. As for negative mentions, Sixt racks up just 2.72%, narrowly beating Europcar on 3.77%. Avis has the highest negative mentions, at just shy of 10%.
