Author’s privacy policy

Given our monitoring and web analytics activity, we may collect personal data. This circumstance can occur especially in relation to public information that can be accessed through social networks. We consider authors to be those who publish on their own behalf (and not on behalf of a company or organization) on the internet.

General information

Chris Grippo Consulting LLC. is responsible for Websays services. You can find us at Ausiàs Marc, 147, 08013 Barcelona; or contact us at contact@websays.com.

Purposes of Data Processing

Our services include the tracking and indexing of information published on the internet with public character. This means that, basically, we work like a search engine (eg Google, Bing, Yahoo …). On the other hand, in certain cases, we contract services from third parties with the same purpose. All this information is part of our main activity, so we offer our customers access to this information and its analysis. We do not make decisions about people based on the data collected and analysis performed.

Use of data

We want to emphasise that all the information we collect is public; so that anyone can access it through the internet. There is only one exception to this rule, for some Social Networks Owned Channels, the user might give Websays authorisation in order to gather mentions only available for that user or page admin. In this regard, Websays has been approved by all the Social Networks available in the Websays Dashboard and follows their restrictions and regulations. Please visit each of their Terms of service for more detail:

The Websays data gathering includes the possibility to collect personal data. For example, your first and last name (if you use them as a username on social networks). In any case, you always maintain control over your publications and profile, in accordance with the ‘Terms and Conditions’ and ‘Privacy Policy’ of each social network or web page in which you can participate. That is, we only access that information that you have decided freely to make public and that the source, platform, web and / or social network decides to share with us.

Going into detail, we can collect the following raw data:

  1. Name, surname, user name and any other user ID.
  2. Publications made with your user ID.
  3. Images or videos related to your user ID.
  4. Profession and / or job position.
  5. Interests.
  6. Location.
  7. Gender.
  8. All information that you share publicly on a web page or social network.

After carrying out our analysis operations on the indicated data, we can establish a profile with additional information. This information is obtained through the application of algorithms that cross all the information collected. For example, if you publish content about soccer habitually, we can understand that you are fond of soccer. And if these publications are about a particular football club, we can conclude that you are a follower of that club.
