Samsung is running away with the mobile social media game, dominating social media with almost as many mentions as HTC, Nokia and LG together. Samsung is taking 49.8% of the share of mentions online, and proportionally received more responses on social media than LG, Nokia and LG combined.

Samsung also had a much larger reach on Twitter than any of its competitors, nearly twice as far as its nearest competitor, LG, at 47.1% of the share of the reach compared to LG’s 26.4%.

But what are people saying about phone brands?

Of course, mentions by themselves aren’t quite enough. The sentiment of mentions is as important to a brand as its reach.

Previously we found that of HTC, LG, and Nokia, Samsung is by far the most successful on social media, clocking up nearly as many mentions as the other three combined.

Nearly 20% of Nokia’s mentions on social media were positive, a staggering statistic. LG has the lowest level of negative sentiment, just 3.8%, whilst HTC is the most complained about on social media, with more than 1 in 10 mentions containing negative sentiment.
